How to increase my cash flow in Mafia Wars?

My cash flow in Mafia Wars is in the negatives (-$3000ish).. How can i bring it up? Do i have to buy property to bring it up?

That’s the best way to do it.

Add Mafia members and buy the cheapest property, that is good for 10000$ I think (Mafia’s Mike or something?) When you have more money, find a balance between buying weapons, etc and buying properties!
